Goodbye to a hero
Family, friends and over 650 law enforcement and emergency personnel filled the 2,000-seat auditorium to near capacity for the three-hour service. Mathiesen’s brother-in-law and longtime friend Doug Fletcher, a lieutenant for the Citrus Heights Police Department, acknowledged the large showing that had turned out for the memorial. “As I look around the room, I see law enforcement, Petaluma dairymen, construction workers, family and friends. Who else but Jim could get a group like this together in one place?” Fletcher and others shared humorous anecdotes about Mathiesen, filling the auditorium with laughter and setting a light tone for the service. During the first portion of the memorial program, family and friends spoke candidly of Mathiesen’s witty and charismatic nature. Childhood friend Eric Olson told of his anger, fear and confusion in preparing to speak at the service. “But I knew I had to speak here today,” he said. “If I wouldn’t have been here, [Jim] would have said something like ‘Suck it up, buttercup, and talk.’ ” Olson said Mathiesen had both a strong work ethic and “fun ethic.” At the age of 40 after working for 25 years for Hermsmyer Construction, Mathiesen decided to pursue a new career in law enforcement. Marin County Sheriff Robert Doyle said he was a father figure, a mentor and a leader. His age earned him the nickname “Grandpa” in the police academy. Doyle recalled speaking to Mathiesen as a new recruit and asking him, as he did all new recruits, why he wanted to get into law enforcement. “Because I want to help people,” was his response, the sheriff said. “Well, buddy, you have come to the right place,” Doyle told him. “That’s what we do here at the Marin County Sheriff’s Office. We spend most of our time helping people, solving problems and fixing things.” Colleagues said Mathiesen embodied that philosophy. Working mostly in the county courthouse and jail, he touched the lives of inmates he came into contact with, Doyle said. A young woman who had previously gotten into trouble with the law wrote a letter of condolence to the court after hearing of Mathiesen’s murder. Mathiesen had made an impression on her while walking her back to the jail after seeing a judge.Marin County Court Calendar - News

Autism is now an epidemic and more and more parents and a growing number of medical experts link it to vaccination. One percent of children have this diagnosis, including almost two percent of boys. Officials tell us there’s no known cause or cure for autism. There’s no way to prevent your next child from also being on the spectrum. If your child is born healthy and developing normally but then suddenly gets sick following routine vaccinations, it’s all just a coincidence
Thousands of parents report that directly after receiving scheduled vaccines their child developed things like seizures and bowel problems. Many stopped talking and lost learned skills, eventually receiving an autism diagnosis. Doctors can’t explain this. The only thing they’re sure of is that the ever-increasing vaccine schedule isn’t to blame and they have over a dozen pharma-funded studies to prove it.

Vaccines, like all medical products, have risks. Eberhart-Phillips doesn’t tell us that if a child is injured by a vaccine, parents can’t sue either the doctor or the vaccine maker. They have to go to a adversarial process called “vaccine court” where they’re up against government lawyers defending a government program using government money. Very few parents ever get their day in “court.” Despite this, the “vaccine court” has paid out over $2 billion since 1986 for severe injuries, including death, from vaccinations.
