Pide voto de confianza para Fortuño
El presidente de la Federación de Presidentes Municipales Futuros Alcaldes del Partido Nuevo Progresista (PNP), Santos Seda, solicitó hoy a los electores que den un voto de confianza al gobernador Luis Fortuño para que continúe al mando del PaÃs en el 2012.
El también presidente del comité municipal del PNP en Guánica expresó que "cuatro años no son suficientes para arreglar el desastre que dejó el PPD. Todos sabemos que nuestro equipo ganador junto a Luis Fortuño revalidará en las elecciones generales del 2012â.
âAdemás, nosotros recuperaremos las alcaldÃas para llevar a cada municipio de Puerto Rico al progreso que tanto mereceâ, recalcó el ayudante especial del presidente del Senado, Thomas Rivera Schatz.
El dirigente novoprogresista dijo que los presidentes municipales donde hay alcaldes del Partido Popular Democrático, están preparándose y organizando su comité para hacer una campaña unida de manera que puedan prevalecer en cada alcaldÃa.
Seda dijo que además del gobernador Fortuño, confÃa en la labor del Comisionado Residente Pedro Pierluisi, asà como en los alcaldes y legisladores del PNP.
âEl PNP a través de su historia siempre le ha ofrecido a los puertorriqueños las mejores obras, grandes ideas, trabajo incansable, compromiso, pero sobre todo confianza. Es por esto que la gente no se va a dejar engañar y va a darle su voto de confianza nuevamente al PNP", expresó.

Guánica is the place where most historians concur Christopher Columbus landed during his second voyage to the New World in 1493, and later in 1898 became the site where General Miles and the U.S. troops landed to take Puerto Rico from the Spanish during the Spanish-American War. This invasion led to Puerto Rico being acquired by the United States. The invasion, just one small part of the war between Spain and United States, occurred in Guánica due to its sheltered harbor and proximity to Ponce. It was an unexpected site for such an attack for it had been anticipated at the heavily fortified city of what is now called Old San Juan . Guánica is a not-so-modern town that maintains roots and connections to a traditional past. I mean this is the nicest way possible. Even with the advancements of today's society, this small town still carries its history among the many abandoned buildings, a historic military fort, and the traditional fishing culture that is maintained by the few commercial fishermen that still ply their traditional craft beyond its old shores.
