Restaurant news: Brew Haven Craft Beer Festival is Aug. 6
Mark your calendars for Aug. 6, the date of the first Brew Haven Craft Beer Festival.
The event, organized by the Trion Tavern, will be 2-6 p.m. in downtown New Haven. The festival tent will be on Main Street east of Broadway along the north side of the Trion. People attending will be able to sample from dozens of beers. Participating craft breweries include New Belgium Brewing of Colorado, makers of Fat Tire; Upland Brewing Co. of Bloomington; Goose Island Beer Co. of Chicago; and Five Star Distributing.
Advance tickets cost $25 and include unlimited samples, a souvenir tasting glass, a meal and water.
Tickets can be purchased at the Trion, 503 Broadway, or through www.triontavern.com . The event is for those over 21 only. It is smoke-free.
A limited number of tickets will be sold the day of the event for $30. A portion of the proceeds will go to the New Haven Downtown Improvement District.
Stadium Bar and Grill, 2607 Goshen Road, is raising funds for Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana with a Harry Baals Festival and Poker Run on Aug. 6.
The poker run starts and ends at Stadium Bar and Grill, with registration beginning at 9 a.m. and the last bike out at noon. Cost: $10 including koozie and food. Live music begins at 3 p.m. There will be prizes, a drawing, bake sale and more.
