N Department of the Army Civilian: Pete J. Hunter, was named recipient of the Army Contracting Command's Contracting Excellence Award. Hunter, a procurement analyst with eight years of federal service, is assigned to the 410th Contracting Support Brigade at Fort Sam Houston, San Antonio, Texas. He is the son of John and Karen Hunter of Gouverneur, N.Y. His wife, Kathryn, is the daughter of Marc Gaines of Bozeman, Mont., and Mary Traylor of Belton, Texas. In 1995, Hunter graduated from Phillips Exeter Academy and received a bachelor's degree in 1999 from Vanderbilt University, Nashville, Tenn.

n JEFFREY R. CARDONI: the son of Kay Christie and John Cardoni of Kensington, received a bachelor of arts degree from Hamilton College. Cardoni graduated with a degree in economics and creative writing.

n The following students: graduated from Saint Michael's College in ceremonies held on the campus of the liberal arts residential Catholic college located in the Burlington area of Vermont: Samantha Lynn Tatarczuk, the daughter of Lynn Tatarczuk of Exeter and James Tatarczuk of Brentwood, earned a Bachelor of Arts degree, magna cum laude in Psychology. Marran Whitney Ranks, the daughter of Scott and Carla Ranks of Stratham, earned a Bachelor of Science degree, cum laude in Mathematics.

n The following students: received undergraduate degrees from Providence College during the college's 93rd Commencement Exercises: Erin Galvin of Hampton received a bachelor's degree in finance, Cum Laude. Gregory Tirrell of Hampton received a bachelor's degree in biology. Evan Hill of Hampton Falls received a bachelor's degree in marketing. Jennifer Thomas of North Hampton received a bachelor's degree in finance, cum laude.

n Nazareth College: has announced that the following students were inducted into Pi Gamma Mu, an international honor society in social sciences on the Nazareth College campus in Rochester, N.Y.: Kyle Connolly of Stratham and Liam Connolly of Stratham.

n SAINT ANSELM COLLEGE GRADUATES: of 2011 include Anne C. Heaney, of East Kingston, a Nursing major. Gerin R. Murphy, of Brentwood, an English major.

n THE FOLLOWING STUDENT: was named Clarkson University Presidential Scholars: Conor R. Cullinane of Hampton, a junior majoring in Aeronautical Engineering.

n HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS: From across New Hampshire have been awarded a Cumberland Farms Believe and Achieve Scholarship this year. Each winner will receive $1,000 toward college expenses from the convenience store retailer. David Sheehy of Hampton who plans to attend Loyola University, Md., is a local recipient of the award.

The Bachelor's aftermath: Matt Grant moves out

Magazine's website reports that since the final rose ceremony, Matt has been staying with Shayne in Century City, California. Even if I was not pleased with Matt's choice (I was rooting for Amanda R.), I accepted it especially since he kept saying in interviews from the very beginning of the show that he found "the one." As I watched the show, it looked like his love for Shayne was more infatuation mixed with a huge high school crush. Name a guy who wouldn't want to date a hot-looking actress. Anita

They "need space to grow"? Um, any relationship that says that, isn't one. They did move too fast. And while I'm glad he actually uprooted his life rather than expecting her to do so, it was pretty clear that Matt chose someone that he had nothing in common with.
