Becki is survived by her mother, Bonnie Turecek of Greeley; brother, Bobby Turecek and wife, Julie and son Rusty, also of Greeley; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Bob Turecek Sr.; her grandparents, Ernest and Sally Reichert, and Jim and Elsie Turecek. Cremation has occurred. Special thanks to Bob and Diane Odle. As a child, she was baptized into the Methodist faith. Barbara was reared and educated in Gurley, Neb. After her high school graduation, she attended Nebraska Wesleyan University, in Lincoln, Neb. She received an associate degree in early education. She taught school in Sidney for three years. On June 5, 1958, she married Gerald “Jerry” Helfrich in Dalton, Neb. After their marriage, they lived in Sidney, Neb. In 1962, they moved to Sterling and then to Fort Collins in 1964. The family settled in Greeley in 1966. She retired from Aims Community College Placement Center in 1998. She also worked for Loftus Body Shop, Datatix and at The Denver in Greeley. Barbara was a longtime member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church; 50-year member of Beta Sigma Phi; PTA member of Jackson Elementary; Hillside Swim Association; 31-year member of M.I. Hummel Club and volunteered at Eldergarden for over 10 years. She is survived by her husband, Gerald “Jerry” Helfrich; sons, Jeff Helfrich (Sue) of Greeley and their children Tia of Wichita, Kan., and Nicole of Logan, Utah; and Tony Helfrich of Loveland and his children, Tyler and Kinsey; daughter, Teri Gutierrez (Juan, Jr.) of Greeley and their children Juan III, Brianna and Benito; brother, Robert Spearow (Dorothy) of Oldsburg, Kan.; and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. Irene was born at home near Berthoud on Aug. 15, 1921. She was the oldest child and the only girl born to Phillip Hergenreder and Anna (Pabst) Hergenreder. Irene grew up in Loveland and graduated from high school in 1940. Irene married Leo Morgan, March 12, 1946, in Ogden, Utah. They farmed near New Raymer, Colo., until moving to Greeley in 1970. After Leo died in 1973, Irene then moved back to Loveland where she started working for JCPenney until the closing of the Loveland store in June of 1985. After her retirement she was very active in her church the First Congregational Church and enjoyed being very sociable. She especially enjoyed stamping Valentine’s for several years, as well as crocheting and word searches.
